The Ace Waterfowl Crew - Living the Dream!

Ace Waterfowl is owned and operated as a family business by Craig and Valerie Henry under the licensed outfitting business name of Ace Woodlands Guiding Services which has been in operation since 1998. Our dreams of living on our own acreage in the best waterfowling area in North America were realized in 2005 and since then not only have we been living out our dreams but also helping others to realize theirs.

Valerie manages all the important details of your hunts as well as keeping your bellies full with her awesome home-cooked meals. For her "real" job, she works in the group benefits sector of the insurance industry along with managing our busy household and family of 6. Her hearty meals keep you coming back for more, and I dare say you should plan on gaining a pound or two while you are here! Valerie also worked as a chauffeur and hostess for Cupped Wings Outfitting for the 6 years it was in operation. In between acting as chef, maid, mother and professional businesswoman, Valerie likes to get out in the field with the family or even on her own if the opportunity arises. Although she accompanies us on some goose hunts, her real passion is ducks, and she can usually be found carrying both her favorite weapons, her Browning BPS and her Canon Digital SLR camera.

Craig is a full time firefighter for the city of Winnipeg for the 9 or so months of the year it is not waterfowl season. Craig takes the entire fall off every year to pursue his passion of waterfowling and manages to squeak a few weeks every spring as well to chase the white devils. Craig and his wife Valerie have 4 children which they are raising on an 80 acre farm only one mile off the refuge line at Oak Hammock Marsh (Ducks Unlimiteds largest North American wetland project). From early spring until late fall tens of thousands of ducks and geese fly over their home daily, most days so low that they wake them before their alarm clocks. A population of up to 800,000 ducks and geese during the peak of the migration make a stop within sight of the farm. Craig has been hooked on waterfowl hunting ever since his father Art took him out in 1985 for his first field hunt and will never forget that cold morning in a harvested oat field with a massive vortex of snow and blue geese bearing down on them. Guiding and outfitting in his fathers various businesses since 1991, Craig started up Ace Woodlands Guiding Service (now operated as Ace Waterfowl) in 1997. Craig also was one of the managing partners that built Cupped Wings Outfitting into the largest waterfowl outfitting company in Manitoba before the partnership broke up in 2008

Some may also have seen us or may remember our appearances on Wild TV, the Outdoor Channel , The Sportman Channel or VS on Waterfowler TV, RNT-V, Outdoor moments, Buck Gardners Fowl Play series, or online at the realtree.com website with team flyers.com.

Although we haven’t changed much personally, the way we do business in the last couple of years sure has! Our re-designed business model and total control of all aspects of your hunt of a lifetime offers a package catered to each specific group and practically guarantees each and every hunter will realize their dreams! As an example, this past fall allowed us to limit out on 5 Canada Geese per hunter with full groups of clients 37 out of 41 mornings out and shoot full limits of 8 mallards/hunters 31 out of 35 afternoons afield!

We live, eat, breathe and dream about waterfowl hunting 12 months of the year and the results speak for themselves.  Tell us your dreams, we would love to make them come true!
